Windscreen Tools

The windshield or windscreen of an automobile is the front window. Modern windscreens are generally made of laminated safety glass (holds together when shattered), a type of treated glass, which consists of two (typically) curved sheets of glass with a plastic layer laminated between them for safety, and are glued into the window frame. Rejel work closely with the automotive and windscreen replacement industry to offer the best quality windscreen tools.

Although glass replacement professionals always try to repair any damage to a windscreen first, sometimes the extent of the damage will mean that the whole windscreen has to be replaced. Various windscreen tools are required to cut and remove the seals or glue holding the windscreen in place and remove it from the vehicle. A primer is then applied to the vehicles framework and allowed to dry before applying special bonding glue to the windscreen to ensure a strong and proper fit is achieved. The windscreen is then carefully fitted into the vehicle.

There are many windscreen tools available on the market for windscreen replacement. For lifting, carrying and positioning glass, windscreen suction lifters are used. They consist of two glass-reinforced plastic gripper handles with suction pads. Powerful suction will handle a capacity up to 80kg of windscreen. Once the windscreen has been removed from the vehicle it should be placed on a windscreen-folding stand. Folding stands are lightweight tubular designs with variable height facilities. A rubber layer prevents the windscreen from moving during preparation. Folding frames are ideal for both workshop and mobile windscreen preparation.

REJEL is the UK wholesale supplier of windscreen tools to the windscreen replacement market. The new LiL Buddy Pro ‘one man auto glass fitting aid’ is now also in stock.
