Windscreen Repair Tools
Windscreens that are replaced can’t be recycled into new windscreens. A windscreen is made of laminated glass (two or more sheets of glass with an inner layer of transparent plastic to which the glass adheres if broken). This means that it cannot be recycled when removed from the vehicle. Thousands of windscreens, which can be repaired, are removed unnecessarily from vehicles every year.
Laminated glass also won’t 'break down' or decompose over time (although research is being done to establish ways to separate the glass from the plastic and recycle both∗). A windscreen dumped in our landfills will remain there forever. There is also a large energy cost incurred in the manufacture of a windscreen. Extending the life of a windscreen saves energy and resources.
Auto glass frequently gets scratched, cracked and damaged due to road debris and loose road surfaces. Damaged windscreens are not only a nuisance, but can also be extremely dangerous in the case of an accident.
A windscreen can become badly scratched by a faulty wiper. The scratch will get worse every time the wipers are used – that is until the wipers are replaced. The correct windscreen repair tools would be needed to ensure the windscreen wouldn’t be damaged further.
A glass polishing process using polishing heads and tools is used to repair scratched windscreens. These windscreen repair tools are perfect for polishing windscreens to remove scratches and shallow chips. The process involves repetitive polishing using progressively finer and finer polishing materials.
Scratch Away is a totally new method in glass polishing and has been developed by Esprit to provide the ultimate in fast removal of both deep and light scratches.Suitable for domestic and automotive applications on toughened or laminated glass.
