Auto-Glass Tools

Rejel stock a number of auto-glass tools, which are used to repair and replace vehicle windscreens (windshields).

The BTB cutting system is designed specifically to overcome the problems associated with the removal of polyurethane bonded components. Windscreens, other glass, mouldings, trims and body panels that are bonded, can all be removed with BTB auto-glass tools.

BTB blades are colour coded. When cutting out auto-glass, the Yellow blades cut high, against the glass, leaving the urethane on the car body. Orange blades cut low, against the car body, leaving the urethane on the glass and the Green blades are for panel removal.

Serrated blades are normally used for the removal of high modulus polyurethane. Non-serrated blades are used for the removal of bonded trims, mouldings, badges, panels and accessories. Powered cold knife blades are designed to cut from the outside. Straight blades and Z blades are normally used from the inside of the vehicle. Special blades are available for trimming and backfill removal. BTB cutting fluid is used as a lubricant. The use of cutting fluid makes the cutting easier and reduces heat build up, preventing toxic smoke and extending blade life. The correct cutting fluid must always be used with the BTB system.

BTB auto-glass tool blades are either rigid for basically flat glass whilst others are flexible blades to follow the contour of curved glass. It is, therefore important that the correct auto-glass tools are selected for the type of glass being removed.

Auto-glass tools can be purchased as a kit such as the BTB Professional 25 blade removal kit, the auto-glass Tradesman 13 blade kit or the auto-glass technicians 11 blade kit. All of these blade auto-glass removal kits come in a plastic presentation tool case.
